George joined the Tennessee AFL-CIO Labor Council in 1961 after serving a four year tour of active duty in the United States Air Force.
In his position at the Council, George is responsible for the printing for the Tennessee AFL-CIO and local unions, together with processing all mailings for the Council and any affiliate local unions according to Post Office regulations, including bar code rates. His responsibilities include the processing of all orders for printed information from the National COPE data processing department and maintaining the COPE files in Washington, DC. He acquires and maintains an adequate inventory of all printing supplies and paper for the Council.
George is also responsible for the operation and maintenance of the ABDick 8810 and AM 1250 printing press, the Pitney Bowes Model FD40 paper folder and F400 Tabletop Two Station Inserter System, He operates the Satori Software Bulk Mailer program in conjunction with the Rena UT-361 Tabber and DA 606 Direct Address Printer and he operates both the Model 539 Labeling Head and the 542 Base Unit of the Cheshire Labeling machine.
George is a member of St. Edward Catholic Church where he serves as Hospitality Minister and Minister of the Holy Eucharist. He also serves on the St. Edward Parish Council. He is a member of the St. Edward Knights of Columbus Council 9586 and a 4th Degree member of Msgr. Albert A. Siener Assembly #1627.

George has been married to Saundria K. Heimbach for 32 years. They have two sons and one daughter and three grandchildren, two boys and a girl.
