Career Background
Eddie Bryan was first elected Secretary-Treasurer of the Tennessee
AFL-CIO Labor Council in 1981. He has been re-elected to a new term
in in each subsequent election.
Eddie began his career working in Nashville as an installer and
repairman for South Central Bell. He is a member of CWA Local 3808.
From 1975-1979, Eddie served as the Deputy Commissioner of Labor
for the Tennessee Department of Labor. Throughout his career, Eddie
has served on various community and government boards and commissions,
including:

Advisory Committee, Metro Urban Development Commission.
- Former Member, Tennessee

Graduated in 1954 from Hume-Fogg High School, Nashville where he
served as co-captain of the football team for 3 years. Completed

Job Responsibilities
The Secretary-Treasurer of the Tennessee AFL-CIO Labor Council is
the custodian of the records and files of the Council. He keeps
a correct record of the proceedings of the conventions and of the
General Executive Board. He receives and disburses all funds and
also maintains proper and adequate financial records to show the
standing of all affiliated organizations of the source and disposition
of all funds in his care. He prepares an annual budget based on
the anticipated income of the Council and submits the budget to
the Executive Board for approval.
